Privacy Policy — MotoChronPRO

Effective 11 August 2026

MotoChronPRO does not collect your data. There is no account, no sign-in, and the app makes no network connections of any kind. Everything you record stays on your iPhone until you choose to send it somewhere.

What the app stores, and where

MotoChronPRO stores the information you enter so it can do its job:

  • Riders — race number, name, colour, and their timing settings.
  • Tracks — the name and layout you type in.
  • Sessions — lap times, pit stops, session events, and the settings the session was run with.
  • Presets — session line-ups you save to reuse.
  • Two preferences — which session the app arms when it opens, and whether a PDF is saved automatically when a session ends.

All of it is written to your own device. None of it is transmitted anywhere. We never receive it, and we have no way to.

If you switch on automatic PDFs, those reports are saved to the app's folder in the Files app, where you can open, move and share them like any other file. That folder is on your device too — nothing about it involves us.

Deleting the app removes all of it. There is no copy elsewhere to delete, and no way to recover it afterwards, so export anything you want to keep first.

What leaves your device

One thing, and only when you ask for it: the PDF session report.

When you generate a report by hand, the app writes a PDF to temporary storage on your device and hands it to the standard iOS share sheet. From there you choose where it goes — print it, AirDrop it, mail it, or save it to Files. The app plays no part in that choice and does not keep a copy.

Automatic PDFs never leave your device on their own. They are saved to the app's folder in Files and stay there until you send them somewhere or delete them.

Once you send a report somewhere, it is governed by whatever handles it next. If you mail it, your mail provider's privacy policy applies to that message.

No tracking, no analytics, no advertising

  • We do not track you, in the app or across other apps and websites.
  • There is no analytics or telemetry of any kind.
  • There is no advertising and no advertising identifier.
  • There are no third-party SDKs, and no data is shared with or sold to anyone.

The app's privacy manifest declares one required-reason API: UserDefaults (reason code CA92.1), used solely to remember your two settings — which session you want armed when the app opens, and whether reports are saved automatically. That is the entire extent of it.

Permissions

MotoChronPRO asks for no permissions. It does not access your location, contacts, photos, microphone, camera, health data, or calendar, and it does not send notifications. It uses haptics and can keep the screen awake while a session is running — neither involves any data about you.

Information we may receive from Apple

We do not receive your data from the app. Two things are worth naming honestly, because they come from Apple rather than from us:

  • Crash and performance reports. If you have chosen to share analytics with developers in iOS Settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated diagnostic reports. These come from Apple, are not linked to your identity, and are not something the app itself sends.
  • App Store purchase and download data. Apple provides aggregated sales and download statistics. This does not identify individual users.

TestFlight beta testing

If you take part in a beta through TestFlight, Apple shares your email address with us so we can invite you, and TestFlight lets you send feedback and screenshots directly to us if you choose to. That is handled by Apple under Apple's terms, not by the app. Beta builds collect nothing more than the released app does — which is nothing.

Children

MotoChronPRO is a tool for timing motorsport sessions. It is not directed at children and collects no information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update it here and change the effective date above. Since the app currently collects nothing, any such change would be a substantial one, and we would say so.
